Tokai Springy Sound ST-55 1981 MIJ Olympic White RARE Matched Headstock Vintage Guitar Strat

Purchased on Reverb, mid-2020 & was shipped directly from Japan 🇯🇵!  The original Olympic White finish has aged naturally into a nice creamy yellow! What's RARE is matching headstock! Very hard to find! Only selling because I need the space/thinning the herd. It plays, sounds & feels amazingly! I collect Tokai's, was the main reason for the purchase. Gave it a full set-up (I'm a guitar tech), installed a new wiring harness and stored it away in a case. (See photos to see wiring upgrade) still has the original U pickups, only the original 5-way switch, cable input & v-pot needed replacing (not bad for its age). Everything else is original, tuners & saddles are stamped "Tokai". It's a well-known fact that Stevie Ray Vaughn played Tokai!

Included: all the original pieces removed for the upgrades. One last thing, the pickguard & pickup covers were refinished professionally (when was it done? I have no clue) way before I got my hands on this baby (IMO it looks better this way!) I suppose it can always be removed but I left it as is.

Overall it's in excellent condition w/no major cosmetic damages. I think it's very clean for its age and extremely hard to find in this condition. This Tokai has wear that you’d expect from a 41-year-old guitar.
