This is a 2008 Martin 000-18 Golden Era in near mint condition.
Comes in the original Martin TKL premium hardshell case.
No cracks, scratches or damage. There is one blemish on the top, on the left (upper) side of the sound hole (see 6th photo). I’m not the original owner so I’m sure what caused this, but it’s a shallow swirl mark about the size of a nickel. It appears to only affect the finish and there is no damage to the wood. It isn’t visible in the playing position, and you have to get down at just the right angle to see it. You’ll know it’s there but no one else will know unless they are closely inspecting the guitar.
The Golden Era guitars have premium Adirondack spruce tops and 1/4” Golden Era Adirondack braces. This one is very resonant and puts out a lot of volume for a 000 size body. It can keep up with any dreadnought.
It is currently set up for light gauge (.012-.053) strings. I tried different strings and settled on the Martin SP Phosphor Bronze strings.
This has a 1 3/4” nut, 2 1/4” at the 12th fret, and most importantly it has the wider 2 5/16” string spacing at the bridge.
Very minor playing wear on the first 2 frets, but they still have plenty of life left in them. I would grade the frets at 85%.
The action is excellent. 12th fret measures .065” on the 1st string and .077” on the 6th string.
Has a strap button installed, as pictured.
