Up for sale, a 1940's Regal lap steel in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. 100% original save for a set of modern open-gear tuning machines, and freshly restrung with roundwound nickel 12s, this steel has a smooth, clear sound with sparkling treble response and a low noise floor.

The playing surface has an unusual (for a lap steel) rosewood fretboard with multi-colored dot position markers and more intricate details central to the frets. The scale length is 23", and string spacing at the thick carved ebony nut is 1 7/8". The original Regal waterslide decal is intact on the headstock, and the open-gear strip tuners turn smoothly.

The chrome plating on the hardware is positively gleaming, and the original cream Art Deco-style radio knobs are present. The wiring harness is untouched, with stock pots and chewing gum tone cap. The white pearloid wrap is exceedingly clean, and the brown felt on the back of the steel is also remarkably well-preserved.

The original hardshell case is included with the stock leather handle intact, as well as two functional latches.
