Update: Just completed Audio Precision tests on a 2722 (see attached test data), measured 55W/ch with both channels simultaneously driving 8Ω loads at the onset of clipping (THD below 1%), and over 60W at 5% THD. Noise floor measured right around -100dBV with the inputs shorted, measured at min and max volume settings. Frequency Response, noise floor, output power and distortion all measure better than specified as new.

There’s nothing cooler than listening to vinyl on a silver face amp with analog VU meters (lit by incandescent bulbs) with vintage speakers.
I’ve owned this amplifier for over 20 years and it’s served me without fail. I won’t be too sad if it doesn’t sell immediately, because I’d never find another as nice and I put a lot of work and top quality parts into it.

The amp is fully discrete (no ICs) with a smooth sounding fully discrete MM phono preamp section. It pairs fantastically with my rebuilt (vintage) JBL L100s, and also modern bookshelf speakers.

An extensive restoration has been freshly performed starting with the removal of the conformal coating on the bottom side of the PCB since it had gone bad (by smell and texture). Both sides of the main PCB were meticulously cleaned with a soft natural brush using alternating washes of 99% isopropyl alcohol and simple green (it took 4 alcohol washes in total).
Every single electrolytic capacitor on the unit was replaced using high quality name brand parts: Nichicon (FW) gold series, Elma silmics, Panasonic or Wima film caps. All film and ceramic signal caps were replaced Wima film caps. All of the caps are rated at the same or higher voltage than original for improved lifespan and reliability. The phono stage had the 560 ohm collector resistors replaced with a matched pair of higher wattage military grade (RN) Dale resistors to reduce noise and improve reliability (added margin), these run hot by design. None of the original parts measured out of spec and will be included with the sale.

After replacing all of the components the remaining flux and glue residue was removed by the 4th alcohol wash and rinse (using lab grade isopropyl). The bias was checked as per the service manual, all pots were cleaned with Caig Deoxit F5 (for faders), all switches and connectors were cleaned with the standard formula Deoxit. After extensive listening tests verified correct operation the unit was checked with a thermal imager to ensure all parts of the amp were running at the expected temperatures (see image).

Disclosures: There are a few minor scratches on the front panel as expected with the age of the amplifier, but it presents very well. One of the plastic grips on one of the binding posts cracked and was glued back in place - it doesn’t not affect regular function. The amp has two sets of switchable outputs (A, B, A+B) so I just use the B connections. I made custom banana adaptors (off-the-shelf adaptors didn’t fit well) to avoid repeated torquing of the 40+ year old connectors. The adaptors will be included with the sale of the amplifier if my asking price is met.
