We that know attest to the most beloved instrument of guitar icon, Steve Vai.

2000 Ibanez 7VWH Guitar Serial Number F0040278 is a faithful no holds barred Re Creation of the Original Steve Vai Famous Ibanez.

Equivalent or better than the Ibanez 1 of 100 Copies as this one not only has Vai's special electronics but also the original Ebony fretboard.  Any one of the 1 of 100's do not!

Make no mistake this is a meticulously recreated Copy of the Original built out of admiration and honor for Steve Vai's original #1 axe 30 years later.

To Be Clear In no manner or form are we implying this is the Original, or 1 of the 100 S/N R11803 Ibanez guitars with the same repeated S/N on all of the 100 guitars. Those Re Production models were made all with the exact same Serial Number found at the base of the fret board and were identical in all respects.

This is an exact recreation of the Original less relic "not a reproduction". A one off recreation of the original Ebony Neck model again not the Reproduction Ibanez w/Rosewood neck model built in 2012 by Ibanez. This will sound, look, and perform to the quantum level expected of the original.

This 7VWH Ibanez Guitar has been Custom modified as how Vai's original came to be. Built using Only Original Ibanez Matching S/N Materials with exception to the additional modified trade name parts used that Steve Vai’s Original uses on his exact Jems. The preferred Ibanez 2000 7VWH Ebony neck model Guitar was used to more emulate the Original as opposed to the Ibanez Reproduction model that used a rosewood fingerboard ...

This project began with painstaking mapping and research of the actual Steve Vai Guitar and all it’s Original Parts. Every nuance from Steve's original has been applied that Steve had modified or changed out. All of the components of the original Vai JEM have been used specifically for this recreation model.

So the story goes Steve feels that each nick and scratch in the original  “adds character and tell his stories which is important to him only I did not relic recreate them.  The original developed body cracks at the neck joint. I also avoided recreating these relic cracks as well. Look at this one like it was in it's younger days not beat up and with the Ebony board neck that broke on the original.

The 7VWH neck is based on Steve’s Original Ebony Board .  The smoothness of the neck is nothing short of amazing. Due to Steve’s wild signature moves on stage, the original has been forced to experience various repairs and surgeries from time to time. The current neck Steve Vai uses was installed in 1997, when the previous Ebony neck was broken during a show in Melbourne, Australia.

This recreation features DiMarzio® Evolution ® pickups, the same pickups as in the regular production JEM models- with some twists, however. The neck pickup as on Steve’s own original is mounted in the bridge position. To fit the polarity, it is mounted upside down.

The Electronics for this System is the same system installed in Steve Vai's legendary guitar.  The System is a modified version of the SVST-HSH System which is a Single Volume Single Tone System with a 5-Way Selector Switch.  This System is specially designed for instruments with two humbucker pickups and a single coil in the middle position.  Where this electronic System differs from the SVST-HSH is a 500k Yin-Yang Push/Pull Volume Pot.  When the volume pot is engaged a .0033uF ceramic tone cap for a subtle cut in the lower bass frequencies for a treble boost.

The switch positions are as follows:

Position 1 - Bridge Pickup Full Humbucker
Position 2 - Bridge Pickup Coil Split & Middle Pickup
Position 3 - Middle Pickup
Position 4 - Neck Pickup Coil Split & Middle Pickup
Position 5 - Neck Pickup Full Humbucker

CTS Universal Dual Value “Goes to Eleven” Volume and “Killer” Tone Pots,
  •  Gotoh, Switchcraft toggles and Switchraft output jacks
  • CRL and Oak Grisby selector switches
  • Bourns “Yin-Yang” Push/Pull Pots.

Each CTS “Goes to Eleven” Volume and “Killer” Tone Pot

Other features on this recreation as found on the original include a tremolo cavity plate fastened to the body with Velcro, gaffer’s tape on the sides of the neck pickup to prevent the strings from getting caught underneath the pickup, the original Edge tremolo, the Ibanez original Back Stop which supports the tremolo system and something that Steve prefers on all of his guitars, a pick holder on the side of the headstock, and a wrench holder on the back of the headstock, even the green Rack Tag on the side of the body, … just to name a few.

This JEM as on Steve's is installed with a chrome recreation of the Dimarzio® ClipLock ® strap, which is currently discontinued from Ibanez.  Also included is the Jem Flight Case which is also no longer available from Ibanez.

The Serial number listed both neck and body F0040278 corresponds with this Ibanez 7VWH specifically. This is an Authentic re creation with Authentic Parts used as on the Vai's famous guitar..

Only 1 JEM- Copy Re Creation of this famous guitar outside the Ibanez recreations exist as far as we know in it's entirety as this one.

This was not built to capitalize commercially on the likeness, wording, writing ect. only the functionality and physical uniqueness of this legendary guitar.

This Guitar will perform 100% to the Famous Guitar level of Sonic proportion that the original has.
