Revolutionary Steinberger Bass Design
There was nothing like Ned Steinberger’s guitars and basses when they were first introduced in 1979. Today, with their lightweight and headless design, Steinberger basses are still bold, modern instruments that offer players both a smooth tonal response and rock solid intonation at any position on the neck.

The XT-2 Standard Electric Bass features the revolutionary Steinberger Bass design with a Poplar body and 3-piece Hard Maple neck that together resonate as a single piece of wood. For traveling musicians, the XT-2 is the Ultimate Travel Bass. At 38.5 inches long and only 7.5lbs, its ergonomic design makes it easy to take anywhere including overhead airline compartments.

Thanks to its headless construction and 3-piece Hard Maple neck, the XT-2 isn’t as sensitive to temperature changes, which makes it virtually indestructible! The neck has a comfortable 1960's style SlimTaper-D profile with a basswood composite fingerboard, 24 medium jumbo frets, a 34 inch scale length, and a 14 inch radius. A folding leg rest sits compactly on the lower bout of the body. A deluxe padded gigbag is included. An optional hard case is also available.

Patented DoubleBall Bass Bridge
Steinberger basses like Steinberger guitars are renowned for their exceptional tone and intonation at all positions. With no headstock, the XT-2 has a Zero Nut Fret with a width of 1.50 inch that moves up to 2.156 inch at the 12th fret as the neck subtly widens to 0.70 inch string spacing at the bridge. The Patented 40:1 Ratio Direct-Pull tuning system and Patented DoubleBall Bass Bridge with steel saddle provide exceptional stability and sustain.

Without a headstock, the weight of the XT-2 feels more balanced than a typical electric bass. Fine tuning adjustments are made at the bridge and string changes can be made fast! The Steinberger XT-2 is set up at the factory with Steinberger DoubleBall (45,65,85,105) strings. Plus, with the Single Ball String Adopter, you can set also set up the XT-2 with any bass string of your choice.

Superb Steinberger Pickups
The Steinberger XT-2 Standard is powered by Steinberger full tone HB-1 (bridge) and HB-2 (neck) humbucker pickups. Controls feature black Steinberger style knobs for Neck Pickup Volume, Bridge Pickup Volume, and Master Tone.
