Hofner Contemporary Archtop Guitar, Cherry Red

This is a wonderful Hofner Contemporary Archtop, six string Electric Guitar, with one floating humbucker pickup in the neck (jazz) position. The pots, cables, and input jack were all replaced with top of the line parts (CTS pots, switchcraft jack) and it has flat wound (chromes) strings on it.
This guitar also has a very nice metal tailpiece replacement that I found enhances the acoustic sound of the instrument considerably, in comparison to the ebony tailpiece it came with. In my experimentation I found that the extra mass of the dense ebony tailpiece muted the instrument quite a bit.
I also replaced the wooden bridge with a tuneomatic adjustable bridge (from StewMac) that enables you to adjust intonation and also gives a more resonant acoustic sound because of the metal points of contact with the strings.  It has ebony volume and tone knobs, and an ebony pick guard.
All these upgrades make this guitar a lot more valuable and performance ready! A professional level guitar at a very reasonable price!

This is a great jazz style guitar that plays exceptionally well and is stunningly beautiful. It is in perfect condition, just waiting to be played.
The original hard case has some very minor scruffs from several times that I have moved, but does a very good job of protecting your guitar and looks great!
