This is an interesting guitar and a little bit of a fixer-upper...but it's close!  Here's the story..

The neck is in good shape and has its original finish and frets. The frets have tons of life in them and show very little wear, although they could use a polishing. The neck is a little bit on the slim side as a lot of them are from this period. Slim, but good. The decal is pristine and looks great. 2 of the tuners are original single lines, and the other 4 are double lines which are from the 60's.

The bridge pickup is original and is nice, the neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan. The original neck pickup is included, although it does not read on a meter and will need to be repaired/rewound. The pots are original as is the CRL 1452 switch. I'll leave the rewind up to the buyer, as we all have our favorites. Basically, you're 70 bucks away from all original electronics.

The case is original to the guitar. It is also very beat. Only the center latch will latch and the hinges are barely attached. I repeat, it is original, and it is rough.

The body looks incredible! This is where it gets a little tricky though. It looks right, it feels right, it smells right, has tons of checking and vibe and mojo...all of that...it's cool!!! But, I think it has been oversprayed. A very long time ago, but oversprayed nonetheless. IMO, probably in the 60's (when the 4 tuners were replaced) somebody taped off the metal pieces and shot another coat of white over the original white finish. It has aged tremendously, and look like an Olympic White type thing. It has all the checking, yellowing, tan lines, and patina that you would expect from a guitar this age. Honestly, I couldn't tell upon my first few inspections. It took me a while to figure it out.

All in all, you have a mostly original 1959 top loader Telecaster that with a little bit of TLC, can be brought back to life.

Thanks alot,

Johnny
