This is an excellent condition Sigma DM-5 (52SDM-5) acoustic guitar.
This one was made in Japan by Sigma while it was still under ownership by Martin.
Zero cracks anywhere. There are a couple of very minor indentations on the top but they are barely noticeable and I could not capture them in a photograph.
It has a Sitka spruce top with a beautiful ambertone / honeyburst finish, and mahogany back and sides.
Rosewood fretboard. Frets are in excellent condition and show virtually zero wear. I’m not the original owner but to my knowledge they have never been crowned or even polished.
Traditional 14-fret dreadnought body with a soft “V” profile neck. The neck is slick and easy to play.
Width at the nut is 1 & 11/16” and spacing at the bridge is 2 1/4”. It has an adjustable truss rod that I have never tested because the action is perfect.
It has an ebony bridge and real bone saddle, with a Tusq synthetic bone nut.
The original tuning machines will be included, but I have upgraded them with nickel Grover “butterbean” style open gear tuners. Both sets will come with the guitar and I have the original screws from the original tuners.
The only flaw on this whole guitar is that one of the screws on the truss rod cover is stripped so the screw doesn’t grip very well.
I have it strung up with “custom light” Martin SP strings (.011 - .054).
It is in excellent to excellent + condition with no cracks whatsoever. Has been kept in climate controlled environment with humidity control. Also comes from a NON SMOKING home and therefore the guitar and case are basically odorless.
It sounds as good as any modern Martin D18 that I’ve ever picked up. I’d love to keep it, but I need to sell it to fund another guitar purchase.
Comes in the original hard shell case which is in good condition and has no damage.
