This is a gorgeous guitar! Extremely nuanced detail and softness to the feel and sound, it has a sound that brings beautiful imagery like leaves falling. That might sound a little abstract, but message me for a video and you’ll see what I mean. Amazing guitar.

The Matsumoku factory in Japan made A LOT of guitars and there’s definitely some gems to pick out. My main nylon string that I’ve had for years is this exact model, and I’ve put it up against so many other nylon strings when recording and it always beats them out. The touch on these is very unique and hyper-sensitive, you feel like you could hold a chord and breathe on the strings to get a sound. The inside has that unbelievable notched bracing! That notched bracing is so cool and unique, that’s something I’ve only ever seen on this exact model and a few super old Spanish guitars. I think it really contributes to the beautiful sound. Each one of those notches is all done by hand with chisels. The Japanese steel luthier tools are the best, they’re able to carve the wood like butter. There’s beautiful woods all around, the rosewood back and sides are super beautiful and hypnotic. They’re really thoughtfully bookmatched, that middle part is like a portal you can walk through. The action is like absolute butter, it’s a gorgeous guitar through and through.

It’s been played a bit and has some attractive play wear. A guitar that’s been played means that it’s good. It’s kind of like when you see bugs eating a piece of produce and leaving a different one alone, the one they’re eating has the most nutrients and you should eat that one. Bugs know. The best guitars have been played because they’re good to play. I think this may have been a troubadour’s guitar, there’s a strap pin on the back of the headstock like Bob Dylan’s early Gibson had. Killer Guitar!
