Tama Artwood 6.5 X 14" birch Black AW216 Artstar granstar snare drum

This is awesome vintage Artwood Snare from the golden Era of Tama Drums. 

These drums have become sought after for their versatility and power. Birch shell coated inside and out from the factory in a beautiful piano black finish. It goes with everything!

Sound wise, this thing has a ton of power and a wide tuning range for any genre but especially kills for rock.

This one features the freedom lugs, the heavy duty throw off and roller and triple flanged mighty hoops. There's minor cosmetic aging to be expected with a 30+ year old drum but it's in great shape. The only issues are the snare had a couple loose strands sniped and there's two small holes above the badge. Obviously doesn't effect the sound and barely visible but I wanted to mention it. I never knew the backstory on the holes but I always wondered if it was for an "Artist Plate" that the factory would place above the regular badge with the endorsee's name on it. There's also a faint residue on the side of the drum by the badge I tried to get a photo of it but it's barely there. 

These drums have a cult following with studio guys for a reason. Just a killer snare with an old school attention to detail in the construction. Beautiful finish that's aged great. 8-ply Birch.
