About This Listing

Up for sale, a circa 1990 Aria Pro II PE-Deluxe KV in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A very rare Aria manufactured in Japan (likely by Terada) shortly after the original run of Matsumoku-made PE models ended in '87, this PE-Deluxe KV was one of Aria's top tier models, boasting the original USA-made Kahler model 2220B tremolo. Finished in gloss Ivory, this Aria is loaded with the original Classic Power III humbuckers manufactured by Gotoh, offering a range of powerful tonalities from cutting roar at the bridge to rich chunk at the neck. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Aria has been dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The neck has a slender, fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve at the nut with a bit more roundness and heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .790" deep at the 1st fret and .885" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and stock medium jumbo frets which have plenty of meat, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4, and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale, and the heelless construction ensures easy access to the highest frets. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The bone nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, just forward of the locking nut for the Kahler, and the headstock features

All of the electronics function as intended with a traditional LP-style control array, and the harness features full-size pots and green chicklet tone caps. The carved top is also subtly dished around the knobs and switch. Hardware includes the USA-made Kahler 2220B tremolo which engages easily for deep dive bombs and sharp flutters, showing uniform surface patina on the gold plating and complete with a black trem arm (not pictured). The gloss Ivory finish shows just a hint of yellowing, and the top is notably clean save for a bit of light pick scuffing on the treble side of the guard. Cosmetic wear is otherwise limited to a few light finish scratches and minor marks on the back and body perimeter, and some light scuffing on the back lower bout body edge.

A gigbag is included.
