A very RARE Fernandes Burny FRETLESS Precision Bass,
Crafted in Japan around 1976 at a time when they were giving the USA built Fender version a run for its money ... guess why they are called "lawsuit" guitars.
These rarely show up in Europe!
This Fernandes Burny P-bass features what I believe to be a Mahogany body which gives it a great warmth and low end.
combine this with the stunning maple neck and fretless fretboard (with white binding) and you get the bite and clarity on top!
The bass is definitely a "player" it has a fair share of dings, scratches and patina to prove it (as pictured)
It has a really unique pickup situation ... looks like a Jazzmaster pickup but sounds like a Jazzbass pickup on crack! ... 7.16 kOhms (passive) output going straight into a single volume pot with a HUGE knob (that you can't miss when you're tripping) because this one feels and sounds like an acid trip back to the disco & funk from the 70's.
Features a chrome toploader bridge with brass sadles and the option to mount a thumbrest (currently the jazzmaster style pickup functions as a great thumbrest when playing fingerstyle)
Included with the purchase is the original hardcase, it's in used condition (the outside tolex has some issues as pictured and 1 latch of the 4 is modified with a screw) but it still will protect this beautiful bass!
