This Instrument was custom ordered from Teisco in 1976.

There are 4 main features that it was ordered with which set it apart from the standard Teisco Jazz Bass copies of that time.

1) It is Fretless. The standard Teisco jazz bass copies of that period are fretted.
2) It is custom color Factory Black lacquer finish. The standard finish at that time was Sunburst.
3) It has a Fretless Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard.

4) The Neck also has Green Diamond Inlays at the exact position of every fret on the Neck, visible from the top playing position, which is a nice touch. As well as traditional fret markers in the standard positions. See pictures.

The Neck is dated September 1st 1976 (1 9 6 ) also R for Rosewood, which in the 1970s in Japan meant Brazilian Rosewood.

The Neck Pocket is Dated R 11 6 ( Rosewood November 1976)

The Beautiful Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard is in very good condition as is the Very Nice one piece Maple neck. The Neck is straight as an arrow and solid as a rock. It feels smooth and nice. Apparently at some time in the past, portions of the binding on the Neck were replaced.

Blacklight confirms Original finish from the factory. I have also put pictures of the Bass alongside of my 1975 Fender Stratocaster which is also Factory black. As the pictures show they are virtually identical under the blacklight.

Cosmetically the Body has many numerous nicks, marks, scrapes, dings, and scratches most of which are visible in the pictures. The Body also has a Beautiful mirror-like finish.

The action is Low. The Bass plays Easy and has the Cool Fretless feel and sound going on.

The Bass sounds Great and all controls ( 2 Volume 1 Tone ) function as they should. The Electronics are in excellent condition. See close up pictures.

The Intonation is set properly all the way Up to the last position.

The Bass is fitted with Flat Wound strings on now.
The Bass is a Long Scale (34 inch) Instrument.

This Beauty will come securely packed in the brand new Gator case shown in the pictures.

Please look at all pictures closely and ask any questions I may have left out.

Thank You!
