Kohno Model 5 Classical Guitar 1969 Tokyo Japan With Hardshell Case

Kohno Model 5 Classical guitar (used, 1969).  

Made in Tokyo, Japan by the late legendary Masaru Kohno, uncle of Masaki Sakurai.

Scale length is 654mm.

The attractive rosewood and spruce body is 485mm long, by 365mm wide, by 96mm deep. The designs on the soundhole rosette and the bridge are quite pretty.

Overall, it’s a well-used instrument, showing various signs of age (as would be expected from a 53 year old instrument).  See photos for details.  Of note, there is a weather-check line on the top to the right of the neck, and there are imperfections where the top and the neck join the body. There are several scratches on the glossy finish which appear to varying amounts when light hits the guitar from different directions. There is a smudge at the top of the headstock, which could possibly be buffed off. 2 cracks along fingerboard have been repaired and cleated.
One part on the bottom has possibly been repaired.
This nylon string classical guitar has a responsive and powerful voice.
