Roscoe Century Standard 4 Fretless 2013 Natural w/ Hard Case

This Roscoe Century Standard 4 bass is poised to eclipse all of your other fretless options.  Handcrafted in Greensboro, North Carolina, Keith Roscoe has been crafting world-class instruments for over 30 years and this is no exception to his standard of excellence.

This bass has a Swamp Ash body, Satin Natural finish, and a 3-piece Maple neck with a Lined Fretless Black Diamondwood fingerboard.

Bartolini NTMB - the knob closest to the neck is the master volume, back and closest to the pickup is the blend control.  Directly down from the blend control is the midrange cut/boost control, which is a push/pull allowing access to two different midrange frequencies.  The stacked knob to the rear includes the treble cut/boost (top knob) and a bass cut/boost (bottom ring) controls.  There is a gain control accessible through a small hole in the control cavity cover (on back of instrument), this allows you to adjust the output of the preamp to match the input sensitivity of your amp or a recording console, or to match the gain of another bass.

Condition:  This bass is in Very Good to Excellent condition, showing signs of mild use and careful attention.  The satin natural finish is excellent for masking subtle marks on the body, as we found only a few glaring flaws.  There are some scratches on the upper horn of the bass.  There are also some dimples on the lower edge of the body near the input jack and some additional scratches/dents on the lower edge, as seen in the photographs.  On the body, in front of the front pickup, there is an are of finish loss from playing that was difficult to capture in photographs and is only perceptible when held to the light or when touched.  The Black Diamondwood fingerboard shows instances of typical, light wear for a fretless bass.  There are also three instances of discoloration high on the fingerboard that do not effect playability.  This package includes the original Roscoe/TKL hard case and letter of authenticity from Keith B. Roscoe.
