Up for sale is this vintage circa late 1800's Washburn Model 118 bowlback mandolin. Usually, when you see these old bowlbacks, they're falling apart and totally unplayable. This one is a very cool exception. This mandolin is in wonderful structural condition and also plays and sounds great. It is all original except for the nut, which our tech just cut and installed. The action is low and comfortable, but gets a bit higher on up the neck. It does not get higher than the low-side of medium though. It's very comfortable to play. There are no cracks or splits that we can find. Someone has scratched initials into the top and into the back of the headstock, but this is just cosmetic. There is a small ding in the back of the neck, but it can not be felt while playing. Overall, a wonderful example of a cool mandolin that is much, MUCH more than a typical "wall hanger"! No case is included, but it will be very well packed for safe shipping.
