Robert B Desmond "Steinway" Especial Model French Polish

Here's my 2017 "Steinway" guitar, from my private collection.  I made this guitar's soundboard from an old 1910 Steinway Model "O" piano soundboard.  Also, the top's internal bracing was made form the Steinway top bracing.  Top is Traditionally braced using a Torres fan system, only with a few small cross braces to improve the treble register.  The guitar was originally made for a customer who was a pianist and a classical guitar player.  He owns the 1910 Steinway piano that this soundboard came out of when its belly went flat.  He asked me if I would build him a guitar from his discarded piano soundboard.  It sounded like a fun project, so I build this guitar for him.  Since he was fairly wealthy, building costs were never mentioned.  I assumed he could afford the guitar when it was done.  Wrong.  He did not want to spend what this guitar cost me to make.  So I kept it in my private stash of Desmond guitars.  Now I am offering it for sale as guitar inventory is rising with the 8 new Desmond guitars I am presently making.  Back and sides are Flamed Maple, with the back inserted with a Brazilian Rosewood center section to make up the width of the back.  Sides are not doubled.  Top is German Spruce.  Rosette is Custom made by myself, reminiscent of Torres's work.  Neck is Mahogany with Ebony fingerboard.  Tuning machines are Sloane's with Ebony buttons.  Scale length is 650mm's with compensation.  Finish is French Polish.  It's a fairly light weight guitar.  This is an "Especial" model, my top of the line work.  It is indeed a special guitar, very comfy to hold and play, beautiful voice reminiscent of the early 1900's guitars.  Visually stunning and unique one of a kind instrument.  Comes in a hardshell plush case.  Shipping costs have skyrocketed in the past couple of years, so Overnight shipping costs have gotten ridiculous.  That said, I still recommend Overnight shipping or come by and pick this one up in Orlando, Florida at my workshop.  Expect Overnight shipping to cost between $400.00-$600.00 depending on the courier.  I prefer FedEx.
