Fender '68 Bassman Head & 2x12 'Tall' Cab 1968

1968 Fender Bassman Head & matching 2x12 ‘Tall Boy’ cab in mint condition.

One of the earliest examples of the transition to the Silverface era. Serial number stamped on rear of chassis: A39853. All components; transformers, speakers, (even filter caps!), etc. all date to 1967. These are the exact same parts that were used on earlier Blackface style amps.

Cabinet is equipped with rare, Heavy-Duty ‘T’ version Oxford speakers, which at 45 Watts each, were the highest rated speaker Fender offered for guitar at that time. Also present is the complete, stock fiberglass insulation material.

Grill cloth & drip-edge trim are both in excellent condition. All original ‘piggyback’ hardware (knurled thumbscrews, bushings, & clip bars) are all present and intact. Tube chart is free of tears & completely legible. Head even still retains its original 2-prong power cord.

Hard to find, super-clean example of a complete set that hasn’t been molested. No wacky ‘mods’, stories, or excuses. Vintage Blackface Tone, without the inflated Blackface price.
