This is a very special guitar built as a commission by luthier extraordinaire, Dale Fairbanks. The intent was to create cross between a Gypsy jazz guitar and a traditional flat top. The guitar is 17" wide on the lower bout and 12" on the upper bout with a gentle "Selmer"style cutaway. The top is Adirondack spruce, the back and sides are beautifully figured curly maple. The body is bound on both back and front in tortoise with white/black/white purfling with a small, oval sound hole. The neck joins the body at the 12th fret and the peghead is slotted. A long, ebony Selmer style bridge sets off this one of a kind guitar.
