Circuit-Bent Synsonics Terminator - LoFi Chaotic Synth and Distortion

This latest output from the Mutantum labs is a refurbished Synsonics Terminator electric guitar that has been circuit-bent to transform it into a monster distortion machine and chaotic synthesizer with all sounds emerging from the built-in speaker and amp. Nicely weird and fun to play. Great for soundtrack work and sound design.  Mutantum Guitars are conceived and built by composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Elliott Sharp using mixes of new and recycled components to create unique hybrids.

Lots of gnarly sounds await: saturated fuzz, intermodulation distortion and difference-tone effects, pulsations, self-oscillation and feedback using the built-in amp and speaker. Using an EBow will add an extra dimension of sonic mayhem (EBow not included).

Intermittent push-button switch kicks the guitar into self-oscillation during 'normal' playing mode.  Mini-toggle switches the guitar into 'bent' operation and the button then shifts range.  In 'bent' operation, the volume controls and tone control all interact to create the various sounds.  Unpredictable and wild.  Another X-factor is that battery voltage affects the sounds making the instrument react differently as the battery wears out.

Lightweight guitar plays quite well with low action, good intonation, and punchy pickups. 24" scale length.

Hand-cut bridge made from brass tubing combines with a wooden anchor tailpiece with suitable string length to do pseudo-pedal steel or koto bends behind the bridge.

Output jack provides normal guitar sound - ceramic pickups are Stratty and loud.

No case or gig bag.

Local pickup is preferred because one has to try this instrument in person to understand it's operation and to love it!
