As I'm sure we're all aware a pre-CBS Strat is worth an absolute fortune, and if you've got anything built by Fender before 1965 you could be sat on a goldmine. The value of these guitars vary immensely, largely down to the originality and condition of the instrument. After studying the originals meticulously, the Fender Custom Shop was introduced to offer these incredible instruments at a fraction of the price.
The Fender Custom Shop is the home of the finest Fender instruments, recreating timeless classics and building outstanding examples of their revered models. The standard Custom Shop will have each guitar built by a team of highly trained luthiers, hand-finishing every thing and working together to produce the finest guitars around. If you didn't think it could go one better, you were wrong! Masterbuilt guitars are built by just one luthier on his own, all the buffing, sanding, finishing, wiring (basically everything) is done by hand, by one man. The waiting list for these beauties can range from 18 months to 3 years, depending on the builder - so picking an already built model saves you a good few years of waiting impatiently.
