About This Listing

Hi Verbers...
Up for sale from the vault is my first foray into Bass Sixery and modding - an almost mint condition early production Revelation RJT60B in super sexy Fiesta Red which is their take on the Fender Bass VI.
The mods on this are all purely cosmetic - these guitars are pretty darn good and budget friendly and they have that cool retro vibe - this model and colour in particular... way cooler than a Squier and much better thought out.

However some of the stock plastics do look a little (a lot) cheap so I got to thinking what if we upgrade that really dreadful tortoise guard, change those knobs and low and behold we get this beauty!

Still, I should say that the overall build quality of these early models is very good indeed - they got rave reviews when they first appeared - much better than the standards that have been seen in recent years.

You get a beautiful distressed copper pickguard which shines iridescently over the Fiesta finish and I added some aged Hofner teacup knobs to complete the look. The trem arm is a superior one from a Japanese jaguar and has a lovely coral tip from crazy parts. Marvell straplocks have also been added - a vintage tooled leather strap is also included.

The only wear on this guitar is on the pickup covers where I have wielded a sixpence and removed some tacky scratchcard lettering.
The body is slightly sleaker than a bass VI and the neck slightly narrower than your typical reissue - closer to the original but with a flatter radius - so great for smaller hands, aching backs or slicker playing. The strings are also somewhat lighter. I have generally tuned the guitar up a step to F# or even G but surprisingly it will play reasonably well in E - I've posted a video here of that. There is another video on my utube channel of it in F# as well.
The mystery knob on the upper horn is a sort of Varitone and can add a lot of interesting flavours to the three P90 style pickups.

All in all a fun tool to create with.
I have listed it with a heavy duty touring case - the dimensions of the guitar do not fit a Gator or Hiscox Jazzmaster case for example - this is included if you want it delivered. If you want to pick the guitar up in person then you can make me an offer if you don't wish to take the case.

Any questions please ask.
Happy hunting :)
