Fostex M80 80s/90s 8 Track Multi-Track 1/4" Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder - 100V

The Fostex M80 is an 8 track reel-to-reel recorder that records onto 1/4" tape. This little beauty was released in the late 80's / early 90's and was designed by Fostex as a simple and easy to use device for small studios or home recordings. Do not let its small size deceive you as it sure packs a big analogue punch! 

Condition:

• This is a used item.

• This unit is in great condition overall. It shows some general wear from use and age like some scuffs, marks, nicks and scratches. There is nothing which detracts from the use, functions or sound of the unit. Please see photos for further details.

• This unit has been serviced. This included a deep clean of the tape transport, re-greased and oiled moving parts, installation of new belts and demagnetisation of the heads. 

• This unit has been thoroughly tested. It is running really well and sounds great!

• Two reels and some used tape will be included in the sale. The tape is used and old but it is OK to get started with. We would recommend replacing it if you are going to be making some serious recordings. 

•  Please be aware this unit is 100V and draws 55W of power. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale, please note you will either need the 100W or 300W version. You cannot use the 50W version for this unit. Get in touch if you are unsure.

• If you purchase from overseas you may also need to use a step-down transformer. Please get in touch if you are unsure before purchase or powering on this unit.
