Michael Thames Panormo guitar, 1830 replica, made in 2004

A unique and magical guitar made by luthier Michael Thames in 2004. Soundboard is 30 year old Italian spruce, sides and back are bird's eye maple. Soundboard is unvarnished (waxed but not polished). 640mm scale.

The bird's eye maple gives the voice brightness and clarity, but also note the depth and projection of the tone which is enhanced by the contoured back. The contours are shown at the end of the video, as well as some tiny blemishes in the varnish on the back near the heel, visible only at a certain angle. Intonation is perfect. Action is as low and easy as possible given the style of the bridge.

Neck: stained maple  bridge and buttons : ebony  saddle: ebony  nut : bone  machine heads : gold plated.
