JVC TD-W505 Dual Cassette Deck Tape Recorder Player W/ Pitch Control, Dolby B/C

This JVC TD-W505 Double Cassette Deck is in great shape, with only a few scratches and scrapes. All controls and functions have been tested, and everything works as expected. Cassette A is for playback only, and features a pitch (speed) control. This pitch control also works while the two decks are in normal speed dubbing from A to B (but not high speed dubbing). Cassette B is for recording and playback, and features a mic input and recording L/R balance control. As a bonus, the mic and line inputs can be recorded at the same time. Regular and high speed dubbing from deck A to deck B is available, as is Dolby B and C, and HX Pro noise reduction. Both decks can play in single side, auto-reverse, and continuous loop modes, with this exception - when deck A is in continuous mode, when the second side finishes playing, playback switches to deck B. The display shows volume levels, playing direction, and which deck is playing, along with its tape counter (via an A/B button). A headphone jack is included.
An interesting characteristic of this deck is that unless it is powered on, the cassette well doors will NOT open or close. Hmmm...

*OLD TAPE DECK/ AUDIO EQUIPMENT DISCLAIMER* - Older audio equipment, especially tape decks, can work fine one minute, only to crap out the next. Belts break, motors burn out, electronics fizzle, plastic snaps. Any equipment I offer has been checked with real world tests (recording from different sources, playing back, hooking up to speakers and amps, etc) and cleaned as needed (heads cleaned/demagnetized, rubber and tape paths cleaned with appropriate cleaners, tape/sticker goop removed where possible, for example). Any deficiencies or defects I find will be noted in the descriptions. Please be aware that because of age, wear, or amount of prior use, any older equipment you are buying to use on a daily or semi-regular basis may only work for a short time.
