Custom Fender Squier Stratocaster Gilmour Black Strat Inspired with Nitro Neck USA Pickups

This is a custom built Squier Stratocaster that has been given a black Strat treatment.   The body, strap buttons and jackplate are the only original stock Squier parts on this guitar, all other parts are new. This one is "light relic" with some very minor scratches and dings here and there but only noticeable upon close inspection.

To start, this is a thick single ply black acrylic pickguard with hand polished edge, parchment  pickup covers, knobs and tremolo tip to stay true to a proper black Strat. The electronics feature a Switchcraft jack, CTS 250K pots with a .047uf Orange Drop tone capacitor and an Emerson blender pot.  The 5 way switch is an Oak Grigsby and all wiring is Gavitt vintage push back wire. We replaced the bottom tone pot with an Emerson blender pot in place of the mini-toggle for adding the neck pickup to switch positions 1&2 as it provides more tone options and is easier to use than the mini-toggle setup. This allows you to blend in the bridge pickup to positions 4&5 in addition to blending neck pickup to positions 1&2. And you can add as much as you want as opposed to the all or nothing of a mini-toggle. When this pot is turned up to 10, it is true bypass and your 5-way switch functions as normal.  The middle tone knob gives tone control for all 3 pickups.

The pickups in this one are special as they are hand wound here in the USA to match the tone and style of the artist allowing for accurate tonal characteristics and unmatched quality for a Strat in this price range. The pickups in this assembly have flat poles, as opposed to our staggered version which is really only relevant with a 7.25" radius fretboard.  

The body is a Standard Stratocaster SE in excellent "light relic" condition over all with only a couple of minor marks but no finish cracks around the neck pocket. This is a full 1-3/4" thickness body and these are typically made of Agathis.  

The neck is a new un-branded standard maple Strat style. This one is a medium C rear profile, 9.5" fretboard radius, 22 medium/jumbo frets, bone nut, headstock trussrod adjustment and vintage amber satin nitro finish. These necks are of exceptional quality without the additional cost of a popular brand name. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and the tuners and string guide are brand new vintage style.

To top it off, a brand new genuine Fender big block tremolo with the tremolo arm shortened to 4.25" so it can be easily held by your pinky while soloing. We setup these tremolos to match the screw and spring adjustments of the artist giving nice smooth vibrato and stable tuning.

The guitar is setup with the bridge floating and is strung with a new set of GHS Boomers 10-48 David Gilmour Signature strings. You won't find a more accurate replica of this iconic guitar in this price range! The handmade E11even Echoes pickguard assembly and nitro finished neck push this guitar beyond the best Classic Vibes and Standard Fenders.
