The Legendary YAMAHA NS-10M STUDIO Monitors

Countless hits have been mixed on NS-10s - they sound exactly as you’d expect. These NS-10M’s have been gently powered by a Yamaha RX-V595 (70W) stereo receiver at very modest volumes. These are super clean and have no oder.
The black cabinets are in wonderful condition. There’s only a few small, nearly unnoticeable blemishes on the wood. The left cabinet bottom right corner has a minor dent. The drivers work perfectly with no tears or stains, and the tweeters are clean with no dings or dents in the metal mesh covers. No fading or marks on the screened YAMAHA NS-10M on the fronts.

I had another pair of NS-10s prior to this set and they were not nearly as well-balanced and true sounding. Don't miss out on this pair.

SOME NS-10 HISTORY
Originally conceived the Yamaha NS-10 is a passive (non-powered) speaker that became a standard studio monitor in the music industry among rock and pop recording engineers. Launched in 1978, the NS-10 started life as a bookshelf speaker destined for the studio environment. The NS-10 was designed by Akira Nakamura and launched in 1978. Recording engineers came to rely on the NS-10 as a benchmark. The model was discontinued in 2001. The NS-10 possesses sonic characteristics that allow record producers to assume that if a recording sounds good on these monitors, then it should sound good on most playback systems.
The revised version, with everything including the logo and connection panel orientated horizontally, was badged "NS-10M Studio". Improvements included a new tweeter and crossover to address the problem in the treble, better connection terminals, and a sturdier cabinet that no longer accommodates grills. The Studio reincarnation also has improved power handling – 60–120 W. In excess of 200,000 pairs of "Studio" alone were sold throughout the world. The reliance on the NS-10 by top independent producers became a viral phenomenon; thousands of studios equipped themselves with NS-10s to attract big named producers, making the speakers an industry standard.
SPECS:
The NS-10M STUDIO retains the unique sheet-formed white-cone 18cm woofer of the original NS-10M, but employs a redesinged 3.5cm dome tweeter to achieve high-end response that is more suitable for studio use. Optimum woofer/tweeter matching and careful crossover design ensure smooth, natural transition between frequency ranges with minimum phase variation. Frequency response is remarkably flat from 60 Hz right up to 20 kHz, and superior transient response delivers crisp, transparent sound. The exceptionally tight, clean reproduction and precise overall response of this system is a must for accurate sound evaluation and image positioning.

While the original NS-10M was primarily a vertical design, the NS10M STUDIO has been remodeled to facilitate on-console horizontal placement. Overall construction is more rugged to withstand the rigors of nonstop professional use.

SPECS Frequency Range: 60 Hz to 20 kHz Power Capacity: 60 watts(PROGRAM), 120 watts(MAX) Nominal Impedance: 8 ohms Sensitivity: 90 dB SPL(1W, 1m, on axis) Crossover Frequency: 2 kHz(12dB/oct) Enclosure: Real wood, black finish Dimensions(WxHxD): 382 x 215 x 198 mm (15" x 8-1/2" x 7-7/8") Weight: 6 kg (13 lbs. 3 oz.)
