This listing is for an extremely rare 1970's Gibson Pickup Cover. This is a cover for a 1971 or 1972 Gibson '58 (1954) Les Paul Goldtop Reissue. In 1971 Gibson did it's first Les Paul reissue and released what they called a '58 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue. In actuality the guitar was more of a 1954 reissue but that's 1970's Gibson management for you. The early 1971-1972 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop reissues are very desirable and excellent guitars and also also very rare and produced in extremely limited quantities in 1971 and 1972. The 1971-1972 Gibson '58 (54) reissues are very similar to a 1954 Les Paul Standard Goldtop but had these embossed Gibson logo white plastic P-90 covers. The plastic covers themselves are similar to the white 1968 Gibson LP Standard Goldtops but the white cover has an embossed Gibson logo. This cover is extremely rare and this type of P-90 was really only found on the early 1970's Les Paul Goldtop reissues. If you're looking at this you know what it is and how rare it is. I have a set of these and will be listing the other pickup cover separately. The cover is in good shape but shows some normal cosmetic wear and the cream covers have yellowed with age. The cover comes as pictured with the original mounting screws. Please look at the pictures and message with questions.
