This beautiful offset guitar with a gorgeous sunburst finish was purchased new from Monoprice last fall and then upgraded with gorgeous sounding Alnico 2 HSS pickups and then setup by a professional luthier, who adjusted intonation, lowered the action, adjusted the nut and optimized the pickup height for great tone and playability. The frets were also filed and polished.

I estimate that with the pickup upgrade and luthier fees that about these upgrades are valued at approximately $150 on top of the original purchase price.

The guitar plays great, sounds great and feels solid and comfortable with a strap or played sitting down. A great way to add an offset electric in the style of classic Fender Jaguar or Fender Jazzmaster guitars (but with a unique HSS pickup arrangement) to your collection with all the work already done to play it right out of the box and achieve the tones you are seeking. The pickups have a big, slightly hot sound tempered by the warmer Alnico 2 magnets for a huge variety of tones thanks to the 5-way pickup selector switch and the humbucker bridge pickup.

Unlike the design that inspired the original Indio™ Offset guitars, the OS20 models feature a more contemporary pickup configuration, with a humbucker in the bridge position and two single‑coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This pickup configuration gives Indio Offset OS20 Classic Guitars a wider range of possible tones, adapting to demands of contemporary players, while combining the best of both worlds. All pickups on Indio Offset OS20 Classics feature ceramic magnets.

Guitar Parts Zone Alnico 2 Magnets HSS Set With Cream Covers

The neck and middle, 5.5K each have Alnico 2 rod magnets with a traditional staggered pattern paired up with a vintage tone four conductor wired humbucker with 8.5K output that produces that classic bouncy tone you’d expect from the best 60s Strat pickups.

The treble attack is soft and sweet, the mids feel just slightly scooped, while the low end has a vintage sponginess. Chords have a nice smoothness and single notes have a singing, musical character.
