Circa 1980 BC Rich Mockingbird Longhorn Bass. California USA Made !
First 2 numbers of s/n are 83, but that can mean anywhere from 80-83........
Beautiful Birdseye maple w/ rosewood, mahogany or walnut divider strips.
Play & sounds Excellent.
Some minor finger resting wear, a few small boo-boos, but still VERY NICE.
No Structural problems/repairs at all, though it looks like it was re-fretted possibly. Frets are excellent.
The reason its not $4995 (or more) is, it has a few "changes"....the great news is, it could be put back to stock if one wanted to, as there are no extra holes etc........
The Dimarzios P bass pickups have been replaced with EMG active P bass pickups. That means the volume & tone pots are also changed to be 25k for the EMGS.
Controls are Vol/Vol/Tone. Original 3 way toggle. The varitone is still hooked up & working. The preamp switch now functions as an on/off switch. The preamp board is gone (available from Neil Moser, if ya want one)
The coil split & in/out phase mini switches have been removed & plugged with removable metal plugs.
2 of the diamond inlays have been replace with pearl dots. Super professional ( factory?) job.
Custom made truss rod cover using the same holes.
New input jackplate.
The low E bridge saddle is missing a height adjustment screw. Functions fine without it. I'll look around & see if I have one....easy part to get.....
All of this is really simple stuff....if it were me, I'd leave it alone & play it !
Original Hardshell Case.
At this price probably still room for a dealer !!!
$80 shipped & insured in the Lower 48 Only.
