This is a beautiful and unique Flying V that I purchased here on Reverb from a shop in Indiana. I debated keeping it, but V neck profiles...it turns out...just don't jive with my hands. I'm a big guy with big hands and they are a touch too small. I did the following to this guitar while I briefly owned it:
- New fret job and new nut. My friend is an experienced luthier/repair guy on the side and did an amazing job. Big improvement over the wimpy, worn frets and the clunky nut. The fret wire used was Dunlop 6150
- Replaced all the electronics w/ CTS 500K pots, vintage cloth wiring, Gibson 3 way switch, Orange Drop cap, and Switchcraft output jack
- Replaced black hat knobs with correct Top Hat Silver/Black knobs
- Replaced the 59/JB Seymour Duncan combo in the guitar with a Dimarzio Air Classic/AT-1 combo with chrome bobbin tops as I was trying to go all in on the hot rod car (given the color). The AT-1 has a little more bass and a little less nasal than the JB. The Air Classic is a little glassier than the 59 at the neck position
- The paint used is the exact same paint Dodge uses for the Green with Envy Challenger. This is per the shop that sold it to me. They're the ones who painted it when they took it in to do something different and unique
- It has black Sperzel locking tuners.
- It came with an Epiphone Flying V hard case. It's in OK shape on the outside...certainly some wear on it.
- It came with brass saddles.
