Godin GHN1 Humbucker Black

For sale is a Godin GHN1 humbucking pickup pulled from the neck position of a Godin xtsa guitar that a friend had me install EMG pickups in. I have 3 other pickups for sale, the single and humbucker from the xtsa and another humbucker from a James Tyler Variax. The humbuckers are all labeled "G&B Pick up co."

G & B Pickup Co. is a pickups manufacturer based in Korea, and make the OEM pickups for many guitar companies, including the SE guitars by PRS, the LTD guitars by ESP, the imports James Tyler Variax guitars by Line 6 and the Canadian guitar mfr. Godin. From what I understand, they wind pickups to each of these mfr.'s specs, so you are not getting the same pickup in each of these guitars. This is supported by the fact that the 3 humbuckers I have do not share anything in common, different ohms of resistance measurement on all 3, different cable color on the 2 Godin units, and a different cable on the James Tyler pickup (beefier). The Tyler pickup also has a silver (steel?) baseplate, where the Godin baseplates look brass. I found these pickups to sound quite good, but guitar players are tinkerers at heart, so I ended up with these in the parts drawer after swapping them out with aftermarket pickups for friends. That being said, these are great quality pickups... potted for low microphonics with nice tone to boot. These are a great low-cost way to complete a guitar you are building, or to upgrade or repair a guitar that has lousy or broken pickups.

This pickup is in like new shape. No rust, wear, etc. It is equipped with a gray 13.5" long 4 conductor lead, so any phasing/coil cancelling/series/parallel wiring is achievable. The screw coil is polarized 'South' and I am not sure of the magnet material (AlNiCo vs. Ceramic). It measures a vintage 8.84kohms, so it is good neck position pickup if you have a strong bridge pickup, but also would make a good bridge position pickup if you want a more vintage output or have singles in the neck and middle. Included are a pickup black mounting ring, screws and springs. If you want to know if you like it, find an xtsa at the local guitar emporium and try it out.
