Q Drum Company prides itself on the art of craftsmanship with a product line that stems from vintage inspiration, and pushes the boundaries of modern drum building technique. They have become known for utilizing materials such as cold rolled steel and copper to build drum kits. The company is owned by both Jeremy Berman and Ilan Rubin; Berman spent over 15 years as a builder at Orange county Drum and Percussion and as a drum tech for a number of global acts, including Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Norah Jones, and more. Llan Rubin is a world renowned drummer best known for his playing with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Angels and Airwaves, Paramore, and others. With exponential growth since the company's inception 4 years ago, Q Drum Co. is a company to look out for.
Sizes on this kit are 13x9, 16x16, and 22x16. Shells are 3 ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany with 6 ply maple reinforcement rings, and the finish is a "blackened" stain over the natural mahogany. This gives the drum a slightly darker but natural grain mahogany look. The tom hoops are single flange chrome over brass with hoop clips, and all the hardware is satin brushed. Bass drum hoops are aged natural satin maple with brushed chrome inlays. This kit was featured at the Q booth at the 2015 NAMM show, and sounds absolutely amazing. A matching snare is available.
