Now is your chance to own a real historical "find" to your MPC collection. My friend Riccardo at Pomarico provided the history below. In addition, the MPC is one of very few with founder Cosimo Pomarico's initials engraved into the crystal. This vintage crystal is pristine and plays wonderfully.  Email from my friend of 20 years, Riccardo at Pomarico is copied and pasted here since Reverb doesn't have a zoom and the email is too small to read:

"Hi John, that is a piece of history!  The GG was a mouthpiece my granddad used to produce more than 40 years ago. I had to ask to my mother for a confirm!  GG Was the nickname of an Argentinian clarinet player who lived in New York, his full name was Efrain Guigui.  My Granddad, after the WWII, left Italy with all the family to go in Argentina. At that time, in Argentina, they were building a new orchestra, picking all the musicians who were escaping from Europe (the Orchestra known as Colon Theatre of Buenos Aires).  In this way, Argentina, had probably one of the best orchestra in the world, as they can choose between the best of European musicians.  (Between all these incredible musicians, there was also Giora Feidman’s father and older brother) He won the contest and became Principal clarinet.

It is not a secret that, the first crystal mouthpieces, were marked “Pomarico - Argentina”.  This Guigui was a good friend of my granddad and wanted his personal model.  Dad and I just take a look at the old facings. This particular model should have a tip around 1,15mm and 1,20mm, and a facing length of 15 mm.  I hope these infos may help you

Ciao

Riccardo

Several of you have asked me who Efrain Guigui is. Please read below:

Never mind, stupid Reverb won't allow me to post a link to Efrain Guigui, so just Google the name.

Sorry, NO international shipping.
