Up for sale, a 2000s Mosrite Mk II vintage reissue model in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order. Ostensibly new old stock, this Mosrite is from a long ago discontinued and very limited production run, made by Fillmore in Japan and featuring a custom color Seafoam Green gloss finish. Clearly Johnny Ramone-inspired, the guitar boasts a Gibson-style stoptail in place of the vintage Mosrite tailpiece design. And with a pair of cutting and clear single coil pickups mounted in a slab basswood body, this Mosrite is a simple no-nonsense sonic machine, designed to deliver plenty of top end snap and percussive power. The guitar is particularly lightweight at only 7lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a particularly slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges for added comfort, measuring .790" deep at the 1st fret and .845" at the 12th. On the thick and extremely dark slab rosewood fretboard, the slender frets are flawless, and the guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The zero fret forward of the aluminum nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The headstock features the Fillmore "Mosrite of Classics" text, as well as Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
The electronics function as intended, with the pair of single coils governed by a three-way switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. Hardware includes the vintage-style six-saddle Mosrite bridge, stopbar tailpiece and pair of knurled knobs. The chrome plating on the hardware is practically perfect, and plastics comprise a white pickguard paired with black pickup covers and switch tip. There's barely a scratch on the gloss Seafoam Green finish, and the ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
A gigbag is included.
