"Nobody likes you when you're twenty three..."
SPECIAL LIQUIDATION PRICING -- I need room in the shop and I just kinda want this thing gone, so I am passing it along at cost. My loss, your gain! Sold "as described."
For sale here is a partscaster I built using parts I have acquired in my travels! I was trying to emulate Blink 182's guitarist, Tom Delonge's signature Strat that he is known for playing live a lot. (I know the Tom Delonge doesn't usually have a tone control, but it was either wire in the tone or leave a hole in the pickguard, so consider the tone control an upgrade!)
I approached this one with "what if I did a TD style Strat, but super classy and traditional..." I spent a lot of hours getting it right, and guarantee it to be one of the better playing Tom Delonge partscasters in this price range.
Here is what I used to build this beaut':
The body is a 1990s/2000s Guitar Fetish. It is made of Paulownia, so it is SUPER light. The whole guitar only weighs 5 lbs - 6 lbs
The pickup is a MIJ lawsuit era PAF that I pulled out of a 70s/80s Memphis LP copy a couple years ago and have been sitting on it for the perfect build. The pot and jack are also MIJ lawsuit era, but the capacitor is a modern Orange Drop. The bridge was pulled from a late 1980s MIK Squier Strat.
The neck is 2 pc maple with a rosewood fretboard. Pulled from a 2000s Squier Strat. The tuners are Allparts brand 10 mm Gotoh copies. The action is great, and this is really a great playing strat. Trem works wonderfully and is really responsive. I replaced the old trem springs with new ones, so the tremolo doesn't "float," Georgie.
As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as possible. I pack my guitars up tight and insure every package for the full purchase amount.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
