This is a mid-70s Kasuga Gakki Navigator LP in a cherry sunburst, nitro finish. It has served me extremely well over the years, very much like a reliable old friend that is just waiting to blast out those classic rock sounds when called upon.
What was "merely" an acoustically loud, fantastic sounding guitar with Gotoh PAF-type pickups was made all the more so with VH Audio TONE caps ($50 each) and 18-gauge UniCrystal OCC copper wire ($4/ft), Analysis Plus Qijack ($40), as well as a set of 550k VIPots (inspired by '50s Centralab pots). Clarity. Note separation. Punch. Definition. Presence. You name it, it's got it. (Original pots, caps and jack included.)
While it has its share of nicks and scuffs on the body and neck, the dents in the neck have been professionally refinished and are virtually imperceptible to the touch. The neck has a full C-shape, and has a long dark mineral streak which is not a crack.
