- 1965 Chamberlin Model 300 Remote Analog Tape Loop Sample Keyboard
- Super Rare, Very Early Chamberlin 300R (Remote), Serial Number #1009 (Number 9)
- Serviced and Working, Though Not Studio-Ready, Would Need More Meticulous Servicing
- Super Long Tape Loops, with Different Sounds on Same Tape
- Remote Keyboard ReAppropriated from Hammond Organ
- Service Notes: “Keyboard is 35 keys, each controls one of the 35 tape loops, just under 3 octaves, and goes from low G# - high F#, leaving 3 empty keys on the low end and 6 empty keys on the high end. The on/off switch doesn’t control anything and the connectors that attach to the mainframe are color coded.

Each tape loop has a number of white plastic tape roller guides that tend to get stuck. They will work properly with lubrication or with time as they loosen up from being exercised. Must be extremely careful not to get lubrication on the tape in the process.

The tape loops wind onto a big drum that rolls the loops from one sound to another. This mechanism was originally controlled by a motor, but is currently not hooked up, as the tape is too fragile at this point in its life to be drawn by motor around the drum. Instead, in order to go between sounds, the drums can be hand rolled slowly and carefully while adjusting the tape and rollers along the way to avoid bunching up or overlapping. Note: The wires for connecting the motor power supply are color coded, but since the color is fading, each wire is additionally labeled with tape.

We estimate 6 samples on each tape loop, but have only rolled the drum enough to hear samples #5 and #4, which are flute and boys choir respectively. It is currently on the boys choir sample. If the drum is wound to pull from the tape collecting boxes (feeding onto the drum), you will move from boys choir to flute and then to sample #6. If it is wound to feed into the tape collecting boxes (off of the drum), you will move from boys choir to samples #3, #2, and #1."
