For sale! One nearly complete vintage 1920's trap set period piece. Everything in the pictures comes with the kit. One original owner, I am the second owner. Crazy, I know [=
Please be sure to check out the video link at the bottom of this listing.
I have owned this thing for some time now and although I love the idea of being a steward of such an important piece of musical history, I just need the space. Looking for a good home that would not part out. I mean, you can do whatever you want w/ it if you buy it, but I truly hope it goes to a preservation cause like myself.
So anyway?! Here it is kids...
Bass Drum Details:
Heating element inside bass drum works. (flickers for about 10 min every time you use it, then stays on, cut it some slack, it's almost 100 years old!?) Contains all rods, Ludwig pedal, bass drum spurs, muffler & muffler mount, wood block and woodblock mount, 10" cymbal and mount, permanently installed power cord (for lamp). The landscape painting is pretty rough, but otherwise untouched. This was a players kit so I'm guessing the paint went through a lot
Finish is 8/10. Normal wear, no major gouges or scratches.
Snare Drum Details:
Pioneer model. Original snare head, may be original batter head, wire snares, throw off works fine. 9/10. Heads need replacing to improve the sound. Includes snare drum stand.
Hardware Details:
Low Boy works & sound great, could use a good cleaning if you wanted to. I chose not to. Snare stand is original & rickety. But, it works in that "vintage pretty" way. Bass Drum Pedal works fine. May have an un-original bolt to hold the mallet in. Threads fine, just probably not original. Looks like the original owner lost it along the way and used just an ordinary bolt as a fix. Low Boy 9/10.
Hardware case: 2/10
Neat old suitcase w/ leather handle. Probably not a Ludwig piece, but none the less a neat thing and crafty way for a working drummer to move gear way back.
I'm open to reasonable offers.
I will not part out so please don't ask. The mere fact that all of this has been together so long must be respected, parting out is out of the question for the time being.
