Up for sale is a 1973 Marshall 1960 A lead cabinet. Loaded with an original set of 25 watt G12M T1221 Rola Celestion speakers with 75hz Pulsonic "3" cone codes. Grill cloth, emblem, handles, hardware and tolex are all original with some really cool road wear. Grill cloth has a pretty significant tear as well as a couple smaller ones. None of which have any effect on the speaker cones (see last photo, the black line is a piece of the cloth material). The big tear in the cloth is actually REALLY great for micing this cabinet, Speakers are free of holes cracks and tears. They sound awesome and have been checked for any operational issues. No coil rub or cone cry etc. All solders are factory and the wiring harness is original. Most notable cosmetic wear is on the bottom, and on the edges but is in original condition. No casters included but the mounting cups for them are present for the original Homa casters, however they may not properly thread at this point, I am not sure. The magic is in the speakers!!  All 4 speakers are an original set with date code HF which dates to August of 1973. This is the transition month between the Green and Grey back speakers. Hence why we see both here. I have not seen many cabinets to have both. These are all original Pulsonic cones, which makes them extremely collectible and the sound is simply impossible to get with modern greenbacks...what are Pulsonic cones?? From Bygone tones: "The pulsonic cones first appear around mid 1962, most notably on the T530 “vox blue“. They are easily the most sought after cones by guitarists because they have a superior quality to their tone that cannot be found in any other speaker cone. Their slightly softer and more ‘fluid’ sound is particularly popular with blues and classic rock guitarists. Pulsonic cones are highly collectable due to their association with the legendary guitar players of the period such as Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles, and their use in the old 60’s Marshall and Vox amplifiers. Legend has it that a fire at the Pulsonic factory in late 73 destroyed the magic formula for making those sweet sounding cones. No one has successfully managed to replicate them, though several boutique brands have tried, as well as Celestion themselves with their Heritage greenback range." The speakers in this cab sound great with no cone cry, coil rub, buzzing or weird noises. Super warm and punchy. Original dust! The wiring harness and all the speaker solders are original. This is the real deal, one of the last of the best years of Marshall cabinets. In players grade original condition. This cabinet also has an interesting story and some famous ownership which I can personally confirm but do not have documentation. I will discuss it with the buyer only after purchase. I am not charging extra $ for a good story but would love to pass it on. Please ask any questions you may have, more pictures can be provided. I am negotiable but please understand these are rare and will only go up in value as they have recently. Harder and harder to find these move like hot cakes!! but shipping will be VERY expensive due to weight, size and insurance for FULL value. I have lots of experience shipping cabinet and sensitive electronics. I will make sure your cab arrives safely however local pickup is strongly recommended if possible. Best price with cash pickup.
