THIS IS AN OLDER MODEL THAT HAS BEEN FACTORY REFURBISHED TO CURRENT STANDARDS  Amp has had only one owner that used it less than a dozen times and then was stored in his studio with the cover on, and is in beautiful condition!  The amp includes a custom Tuki cover, instruction book, free phone tech support for 3 years, and the spare tube and fuse kit installed inside the back of the cabinet ($149 value).  Current value of this model including the spare tube kit is $2600, so this is a real deal.

The view of the deceptively simple control panel starts with a single input jack and selectable Hi/Lo impedance switch for matching any unbalanced microphone. The TONE control also features a pull FAT switch, the down position is cleaner, pull the knob for a thicker Chicago honk. There is a half power switch to operate the amp on one or both power tubes. VOLUME control has a gain boost pull switch, for earlier breakup or to enhance weaker microphones. The PAD (power-amp-dimension) control, an exclusive feature on MegaTone Amps, allows you to trim the intensity of the power tubes to alter the amount of compression and control feedback.

This classic amp has been re-created in a more powerful package that includes all our proven harp mod technology, built with rugged point to point construction - and we call it the WEZO ME-18.

We feature old-school point to point construction for two reasons. The most important benefit of not using a circuit board is that you can put the components exactly where they belong, so that the amp background hum and noise will be greatly reduced and the circuit will be much more stable. The other reason to avoid circuit board construction is because they can crack due to heat and stress, and they make it harder to replace parts.  ALL the components are chosen strictly for their specific tone contribution, from the transformers to the type of interconnect wire, all makes a difference!

The power amp in the WEZO ME-18 starts with two push-pull 6L6GC power tubes fed by a 5U4 power supply. Our build features a huge, fat stack Mercury power transformer and custom multi-tap output transformer. Other features include a strong Baltic birch cabinet built by Ken Jones, three way off/standby/on power toggle switch, cabinet voiced line-out jack, external speaker jack, dual speaker impedance switch, and ground lift switch.
