TEARDROP MANDOLIN

made of solid tonewoods in Markneukirchen / Germany around the 1950s

- approx 61cm total length, scale length approx 33cm,
- solid spruce top, mahogany pickguard with floral inlays made of celluloid and abalone, with multiple purfing edge and binding
- arched back teardrop bodymade of 9solid maple and mahogany segments, solid maple sides, width lower bout 26cm, body depth approx 9cm
- straight maple neck,nice grained magogany fretboard, open headstock, 17 frets + zero fret, original bone nut, nut width 27,5mm,
- original aluminum tuners
- original bridge
- original tailpiece marked DREIMA

original condition

The mandolin is fully playable with good string action (2.1mm E1 at 12th fret ).
In the top, two hairline cracks have been propperly sealed/closed.
A spruce slice was inserted in a gap between the two tops` halves (due to shrunken woods).
Otherwise, the instrument is free of cracks and damages
 
The original varnish is showing signs of the time and playing and is not in best condition (partially played-off at the back)

The fingerboard is showing no signs of wear,the frets are in very good condition, too and have been rounded. The fingerboard was cleaned and oiled

with new strings
