I buy, repair and resell guitars. I generally receive shipping damaged guitars from the factory, a distributor, an open box item or as a store return.
This guitar is a local find. It is a 1978 vintage Westerly R.I. build D-40 with a Florentine cutaway. This is a rare find as there are not too many with this cutaway style. The guitar plays well and sounds like a classical Guild from this era. The condition is listed as 'very good' because, well for it's age it is very good. There is some finish checking on the top and buckle rash in one spot on the back. Look closely at the photos as this is a vintage guitar with all the features of such. The tuners are Takamine and I didn't change them out. There looks like a repaired finish crack at the jack/strap button. This interestingly comes with a half brass nut and brass pin pegs and saddle. I keep things 'all brass' as this is how I received it. Even the truss rod cover is brass. I can send bone nut and saddle with ebony pins if required. Although the guitar is listed as acoustic it did come with a sound hole Lawrence pickup. The electronics work just fine. They are in the hard shell case. I would have installed the pickup but I didn't like the sound hole pickup just sitting there and to use the quick connect you have to take the strings off.
I ship only to the Lower 48 States
The stand is there only for the photos and there is original hard shell case and it is in fair condition.| Listed | 5 years ago |
