Part of the world renown Donn Bennett's Drum Vault collection. Talk about DREAM KITS!! Glen Sobel played this extraordinary Mapex-Sabian-Gibraltar-DW set with not one, but TWO rock and roll mega-legends, Alice Cooper and Motley Crue. The original Alice Cooper Group also used this set in a 2015 re-union performance with original members, Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Alice Cooper.

Glen Sobel landed his dream gig when he joined the Alice Cooper band in 2011 and has been touring the world with “AC” ever since. This is the set he used on their 2014-2015 world tour. This tour led to another dream gig, playing 5 shows as a member of Motley Crue, subbing for an injured Tommy Lee. See FaceBook posts from Tommy Lee and Alice Cooper describing these events below.

Glen played this set in a few different configurations. With Alice Cooper he used a 3 rack tom set up with the 10″ tom to his left and 12″ and 13″ toms in front. With Motley Crue he played a scaled down version with just a single 13″rack tom. In the studio photos the set is shown with just the 10″ and 12″ toms. All 3 toms are included with the set.

-Mapex Saturn drums with custom “Billion Dollar Babies” green snake skin finish and black nickel hardware. The custom finish was brought to life by legendary rock designer Carin Hazmat at Hazmat Designs and the techs at DelMar Finishes. The finish was applied by Chris Heuer at Heuer Drum Lab, the top drum craftsmen in Los Angeles. Two 22×18 bass drums with custom “Alice Eyes” graphic logo heads, 10×8, 12×9, 13×11 rack toms, 14×14, 16×16 and 18×16 floor toms.

-Mapex Black Panther Machete 14×6.5 snare drum.

-Two DW 5000 bass drum pedals, DW 5000 hi-hat, DW 9000 series snare stand, DW/Mapex throne.

-Complete Sabian cymbal set including a 21″ Signature ride, two 20″, 18″ and 16″ Paragon crashes, two 19″ Holy Chinas, 15″ AA hi-hats 14″ AA X-hi-hats, 12″ A Zildjian splash.

-Complete custom Gibraltar “Spider” rack. All hardware in the studio photos is included

-Chains and two custom Sawblade Head skull sculptures.

-Complete set of Humes and Berg hardshell cases. The cases for the bass drums and floor toms are Green Glass Glitter made with actual crushed green glass. You have no idea how many Heinekens gave there lives for these cases.

-Several pairs of Glen’s custom signature model sticks.

-Copies of the “cheat sheets” Sobel wrote for his shows with Motley Crue.

-Alice Cooper and Motley Crue tour laminates.

-Live Zoom one-on-one video lesson with Glen Sobel.
