Marantz Tt 1000

Stunning, rare Marantz Esotec Tt 1000 in excellent condition.

This rare deck is capable of sounding fantastic and is based on the Micro Seiki DDX 1000 and has the original extremely rare Marantz branded Micro Seiki MA-707 tonearm. Ken Ishiwata used the second version (Mk II) of this deck in the Marantz listening room right up to the end. The only difference between the Mk II and this first series deck is a suede platter mat and an upgraded power supply. 

The separate power supply is beautifully veneered with Macassar ebony and is in need of a new 16V led power indicator which I didn’t get around to replacing. 

The unit is in excellent condition with virtually no chips or flaws in the glass save for a couple of imperceptible flea bites. It looks like someone took the unit apart at one time a created a minor flaw in the aluminum finish under the glass sandwich (see photo). The tonearm has some minor corrosion on the chrome weight and base which can either likely be cleaned up with polishing or replacement with parts from another Micro Seiki MA-707 to preserve the rare Marantz branded tonearm. The head shell is a premium 3D part to replace the original which is NLA and very rare. Both the tonearm and the deck should be serviced by someone familiar with Micro Seiki. The deck seems to function perfectly. My plan was to restore this to perfection but I must sell it.
The power supply is a 100 volt model. To run at 120 volts will require an inexpensive step down transformer.
