Rare Martin M21 Steve Earle Signature guitar, #120 signed by Steve and Matt Umanov who co-designed this model.
Considered by vintage guitar legend Umamov to have been “the best guitars Martin is making” at the time. We’re inclined to agree. With prewar appointments and very select old growth quality woods, as well as limited numbers of these hand made, this is a lifetime Martin instrument.
This guitar was owned by a collector, and as such was rarely played, and I consider it Mint condition as it came from the factory. I purchased this for my own collection, not for the store and as such, being a session musician, am very picky on the sound and playability, this guitar has an exceptional sound and volume when playing.
Guitar was playing sparingly in an air conditioned recording studio. I had Dave (former QC for Taylor and one of the pioneers of their technology) at 7C guitars review it when I first got it, and the guitar has a clean bill of health.
The instrument has all papers and original case. Case has small scuff from storage that is not very noticeable. Please note: we will be installing the original black special factory pins in the guitar upon shipping. The non-original white pins are not included. However you can acquire Waverly bone pins from Stewart Macdonald for as little as $22.
This is a very very rare instrument. Only 170 were made and there are not many in circulation. The only one up for sale in the world right now has an asking price of $4900. My opening ask is significantly lower, and I’m doing $100 flat shipping and insurance. Guitar will be over-packed with a humidifier in the sound hole in case it’s going to lower humidity climes.
No rush to sell this guitar.
Any other photos needed just let me know and I’ll PM.
I can email sound sample videos if desired.
Guitar needs nothing and is a lifetime instrument, that given the legend of Steve Earle, and the scarcity of the model will only appreciate in value.
No returns are needed on this one as it’s accurately described. Check my feedback. I deal in guitars of this level and higher on a daily basis. Cheers!
