Lovely little vintage valve practice amp. I've improved the circuit and built something close to a Vox AC4 (minus trem) in there. It has an EZ80 rectifier, a Mullard EF86 and a single-ended EL84 output stage (I think the EL84 is a Mullard too). Just volume and tone controls. It has a lovely crunch if you turn it up, or can be turned down for sparkly cleans, or woody jazz tones with the tone control down.

Original Elac elliptical speaker. Original transformers.

I've had this amp about 15 years. I bought it non-functioning and found the basic problem with the Bird Talisman, which is that the circuit is a bit over-economised, meaning that the amp remains unstable even with everything functioning correctly. Since it uses the same valves as the AC4 (minus trem) and only a few less components, the solution was to improve the circuit to AC4 standards. The pilot light doesn't work, I'll fix one up for £50 extra.

My usual 3 month guarantee applies. Local pickup only - come to the workshop and try it out!
