Pristine Power and Alluring Presence: The ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UFR52 Tower Speakers Feature Innovative Technology and Stunning Aesthetics

Building on the success of the acclaimed Uni-Fi 2.0 series of speakers, the ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UFR52 Tower Speakers are part of a stunning Uni Reference line that has been refined for maximum performance and style. The Uni-Fi Reference line cohesively combines the best of all possible sonic worlds. It takes ELAC loudspeakers to the next level by combining the eye-catching Reference series aesthetics and performance elements with innovative technology from the Uni-Fi series. ELAC has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional sonic quality at price that isn't stratospheric, and the three-way, bass reflex Uni-Fi Reference UFR52 Tower Speakers certainly embody that approach.

Under the hood, the ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UFR52 Tower Speakers feature a new concentric driver with a cast chassis. The 1-inch, soft-dome, wide-surround tweeter enhances the low- and high-frequency extension, allowing for improved blending with the midrange. An entirely new, 4-inch, aluminum midrange driver – with a large-diameter voicecoil, vented rear spider, and new neodymium magnet – allows for better excursion and control of midrange frequencies. The ELAC engineers designed a new cast chassis to minimize reflections back to the cone, resulting in improved sonic clarity.

The ELAC engineers devised a 5.25-inch aluminum woofer with a cast chassis, and then placed three of them in each of the UFR52 Tower Speakers. The result is stunningly clear, improved low-end reproduction that creates an immersive soundstage. This newly developed bass driver features a single-piece, compound curvature aluminum cone with a large, rear-vented magnet to deliver improved linearity and low-frequency response that outperforms any previous Uni-Fi tower speaker.

The UFR52 Tower Speakers, which have a maximum power input of 140 watts, deliver playback that provides not only the muscularity that audiophiles expect from tower speakers, but also the precise sonic details and nuanced textures that result in a transformative listening experience.

The ELAC engineers also designed dual flared slot vents for the cabinet. Utilizing both internal and external flares allows for lower noise and high bass output for improved low-frequency dynamics. Featuring 86db sensitivity and a 40Hz – 35kHz frequency response, the UFR52 Tower Speakers deliver superb imaging for both on- and off-axis listening positions. The Uni-Fi Reference line implements full perimeter bracing in the cabinet, which reduces vibration and eliminates the problem of cabinet coloration.

Available in Satin White with oak sides or Satin Black with walnut sides, these beautiful loudspeakers can blend harmoniously with either a traditional decor or a contemporary one. These 52-pound speakers feature thick, CARB2-rated MDF outer walls, as well as bi-wire, five-way binding posts.

Overall, the Uni-Fi Reference line reflects ELAC's philosophy of creating top-tier products that have great aesthetics and unparalleled performance at a given price point. Like all Music Direct products, the ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UFR52 Tower Speakers come with the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.

ELAC: More Than 90 Years of Innovation

ELAC builds on its heritage by learning from the past, looking ahead to the future, and constantly striving to improve sound quality. The ELAC origin story is tied to a commitment to making the best sound in the world. It began on September 1, 1926, in Kiel, Germany, when Electroacustic GmbH was founded to focus on the development of sonar technology and the research of signal and sound channels in air and water.

ELAC's passion for music and fascination with sound followed in 1948, with its first consumer audio product, the PW1 record player. In the ensuing decades, ELAC was a leader in the burgeoning audio industry, launching innovative turntables and electronics. During the 1970s and '80s, ELAC turntables served as the backbone for some of the world's finest sound systems.

By 1984, ELAC had begun designing loudspeakers in conjunction with AXIOM Electroacoustic Speaker Specialists. One year later, ELAC's 4Pi omnidirectional tweeter – a driver that combined extended range with broad dispersion – truly brought "high end" to high-end audio. This innovation shook up the audiophile world and helped propel ELAC into a brand mentioned among the world's most elite speaker manufacturers.

In 1993, ELAC introduced the JET folded-ribbon tweeter, which proved that a driver whose response goes beyond the limits of human hearing sounds better over its entire range.

The innovations have continued into the current century. In 2016, ELAC introduced the Debut and Uni-Fi speaker series, the industry-changing Discovery Music Server, the EA Series Integrated Amplifier, and its flagship speaker, the Concentro. In 2018, ELAC unveiled the Debut 2.0 line of home speakers and subwoofers. This line built upon the success of the first-generation Debut family of products by incorporating a variety of new features and technologies.
