This is a Chushin Gakki
built guitar
(Ibanez, Washburn, Jackson, El Maya, Fresher, etc). The specific year of this guitar is uncertain but it was definatly made before 1977 because it has the open book headstock. After the 1977 Gibson lawsuit against Ibanez Japanese manufacturers were not allowed to use that iconic Gibson headstock Design. Also probably earlier than 1975 because after 1975 most builders started using serial numbers in their guitars.
About this guitar:The guitar is in original condition except for:
- Electronics have been upgraded with a set of epiphone pickups and a push pull pot for coil split (Bridge volume knob splits both pickups), This guitar originaly came with fakebukers (single coil pickups in the shape of humbukers typical of the early 70's Mij LP copys)
- Bridge and tailpiece were upgraded to Epiphone original hardware. (see last photo)
This is a well built guitar, the arched top is a solid top, not an arched piece of plywood (just like a semi hollow guitar) typical of the 70's MIJ Les Paul copys.
The tuners are the original and show some expected corrosion but are fully functional, the original finish of the body is in good condition, the guitar body is in good condition and shows the expected use of a 46 year old guitar, it has some marks or scuffs, the most significant are documented in the pictures (see all pics). The neck and fingerboard are in great condition, the frets show almost no wear.
Like all our guitars it has been cleaned, checked and set up, of course although the set up is fine, everyone has their own preferences. just like with any guitar if your not happy with the way it is set up, it will be your responsibility to have it set up to your liking...
